The former Chairman of Nassau Flight Services Ltd and Bahamasair Holdings Ltd hold a Bachelors of Science degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Founded in 1956 by Lady Hermione Ranfurly following a massive citywide fire in Nassau, Ranfurly Homes for Children provides care services to children in need throughout The Bahamas. Under the leadership of President Alexandra Maillis-Lynch and Vice President Joey Premock, Ranfurly ultimately aims to improve and expand its services via donations. Since 2006, Lester Turnquest has worked as managing director of Green Bay Group, Ltd., a financial services company located in Nassau in the Bahamas. A resident of Nassau, Lester Turnquest supports several local endeavors, one of which is the Bahamas Red Cross Society. As a humanitarian organization, the Bahamas Red Cross Society strives to improve the lives of those living in the community. It responds to natural disasters, provides for human needs within the country, and alleviates human suffering. This chapter began in 1939 and became its own entity in 1976 when it became the 123rd member of the International Red Cross. One of the ways the chapter reaches out to those in the community is through its Red Cross Fair, with the 2016 event occurring on April 30 at the Government House Grounds. In addition to his professional obligations, Lester Turnquest aids the people of Nassau, Bahamas and the surrounding communities through his support of charities such as the Ranfurly Home for Children. The Ranfurly Home for Children was established in the 1950s, following a large fire in downtown Nassau. The governor general’s wife, Lady Hermione Ranfurly, was saddened by the condition of local children left without homes after the fire, and began work to establish a place of refuge for them. Today, the Ranfurly Home houses and cares for children aged 11 to 18 who have experienced neglect, family upheaval, or abandonment. The Home can support 40 teenagers at a time, and offers a study center, a kitchen, and recreational areas. Moving forward, the Ranfurly Home would like to expand its services for people who turn 18 and age out of the home. Volunteers have plans to work toward tra
