The Bahamas Red Cross Offers Emergency Preparedness Training





Lester Turnquest works for The Green Bay Group, Ltd., in Nassau, Bahamas, as managing director. An active philanthropist, Lester Turnquest supports several non-profit organizations in and around Nassau, including The Bahamas Red Cross.

In addition to providing humanitarian services during emergency situations, The Bahamas Red Cross also provides individuals and families with important training and education that can be used in the event of an emergency. Home and family programs, for example, provide families with the information needed to help prevent a crisis in the home environment. Red Cross training covers everything from fire evacuation plans to preparing for severe weather events. Red Cross training services for schools and students, meanwhile, emphasize actions teachers and school staff can take to minimize the danger presented by an emergency situation in the classroom.

The organization has recently extended its training and educational services to mobile devices through two informative free apps, Hazards by the Bahamas Red Cross and Bahamas First Aid. Both apps are available via Google Play and the Apple app store.
