WSC Launches New Mobile App for Consumers

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Lester Turnquest of Nassau, Bahamas, provides companies with global strategic business advisory as the managing director of the Green Bay Group Ltd. In addition to this role, Lester Turnquest serves as the deputy chairman of the Nassau Water and Sewerage Corporation.

Responsible for the development and use of water resources throughout the Bahamas, the Water and Sewerage Corporation (WSC) was established in 1976 with the passage of the Water and Sewerage Corporation Act. Recently, the organization launched wscMobile, a mobile app designed to meet consumers' needs. The app lets customers use their smartphones to report complaints, check their water consumption levels, pay WSC bills, and view account statements and balances. Meanwhile, noncustomers can report leaks and request WSC services such as well testing.

Through its new app, WSC hopes to improve communication with the public. A large number of customers and noncustomers showed interest in the app prior to its launch, which took place at Marathon Mall and received live radio coverage.
