General Advice for Fishing in Paradise Island

The managing director of Green Bay Group, which is a financial services company headquartered in Nassau, Bahamas, Lester Turnquest brings almost four decades of experience to the role. Beyond his professional activities, Lester Turnquest enjoys fishing throughout Nassau in the Bahamas. Paradise Island is one of the region’s most popular fishing spots, so here is some advice if you decide to fish there:

While the weather in Paradise Island is consistent and tropical, usually maintaining temperatures of 75 degrees throughout the year, it is still recommended that you check weather reports before embarking on a trip. September and October are peak storm months, making vigilance essential during this period of the year.

Shop around if you intend to charter a boat, as there are many companies offering services. Examine the charges, as some will not ask you to pay if you don’t catch anything. There are also some charter services that are dedicated to specific types of angling, such as shark fishing. So be aware of what you are booking.

Fishing without chartering a boat is also possible. Bonefish, groupers, hogfish, and snappers can all be caught from Paradise Island’s southern shore, allowing you to avoid incurring the expenses of chartering.
