Youth Against Violence's Operation Redemption


Lester Turnquest joined The Green Bay Group, Ltd., in Nassau, Bahamas, as managing director in 2006. In addition to his work with The Green Bay Group, Ltd., Lester Turnquest is engaged with philanthropic organizations around Nassau, Bahamas, including Youth Against Violence.

Founded in 2007 by former gang leader Carlos Reid, Youth Against Violence is a Nassau, Bahamas, not-for-profit organization committed to keeping children from becoming involved in criminal behavior and possible incarceration. Mr. Reid continues to lead Youth Against Violence as president, providing the organization with valuable insight into the decisions children can be forced to make that lead to criminal activity.

Youth Against Violence seeks to achieve this goal through a variety of services and programs, including Operation Redemption. The Operation Redemption program emphasizes the importance of vocational skills and experience, providing hands-on training in industries as diverse as auto repair and graphic design.
